Plants from the laboratory are transferred to the acclimatisation building and young plant nursery. The building is built from insulated panels, with temperature and humidity control, providing an ideal atmosphere for plantlet transfer from in vitro tubs into growing trays. We have 5 growth chambers with individual temperature and humidity control. This ensures an ideal environment for cuticle development and new shoot and root growth. This minimises transfer losses and prepares these young plants for adaptation to in vivo production through the tunnels.
The capacity through this facility exceeds 60 000 plants per week. This facility is approved as a quarantine station and therefore we are permitted to import and harden mass volumes of fruit rootstocks to complement our own laboratory production
